Bible Study

Fall 2010 – Bible Study Theme

Beginning in September both the Men in Mission group and the Friday Woman’s   Bible Study will study the Book of Ephesians.

Paul’s letter to the Ephesians is the model for what it means to grow in God’s grace and become a mature Christian. He writes from his prison cell in Rome around 60 A.D. This letter is more like a sermon than a letter and it will encourage you in your faith walk with the Lord.

Paul greets his readers and quickly move to his agenda in writing exploring with them growing in Christ. He teaches on the characteristics of the Church and the responsibilities of the members of the body of Christ as a group, as individuals and as members of one another.  He also reminds us that we are engaged in a spiritual battle reminds the Ephesians that the Church is in a battle and teaches us how to protect ourselves in that battle.

We will take our time going through the scripture and studying the text.  We will do some commentary background work that will focus when the letter was written to whom and why.  But more important we will take the time to make the connection and try to understand what God is saying to us through His Word.
